My
mother passed her love of decorating to me. I grew up in a home
where my mother had different slipcovers for each season as well
as coordinating custom window treatments . She was a do it yourselfer
and I learned by watching her. She had an intuitive ability to
choose the right colors, textures and fabrics for every room.
A trip to the local fabric outlet was a common occurance. As a
result, I learned early that quality is very important when it
comes to fabrics. I have always been drawn to natural fibers such
as linens, cottons, wools and silks . I also learned from my mother
that decorating can be done very tastefully on a tight budget.
At a young age she taught me how to use a sewing machine and when
I decorated my first bedroom during grade school, she helped me
sew the draperies. My love of decorating began with a love of
fabrics. Naturally, this is usually where I find my inspiration!.
.
As a stay at home mother for 12 years I have always decorated
my own home. What I didn't realize is that what comes so naturally
to me can be a daunting task for many women. When I started Nestbuilder
Interior redesign two years ago my idea was that I wanted to share
my knowledge and talents with other women.

Interior
redesign is a popular new form of design that is regularly featured
on HGTV and in decorating magazines. In redesign, we recognize
that you already have almost everything you need to create a beautiful
home.
I use traditional design along with the ancient art of feng shui.
Feng shui is really just the art of furniture placement. When
the furniture and accessories in your home are arranged according
to universal design principles, the energy is balanced and it
allows you to manifest changes in other areas of your life. The
use of color can dramatically change the way a person feels in
a space as well.
My design philosophy has always been that a home should be a reflection
of the individuals who live there. "A persons home should
tell their story".
Everyone should be able to feel joy and harmony when they are
in their home and it doesn't have to cost a lot!
